Family Fun Sports Day 08-06-2024

Our school held the "Family Fun Sports Day 2024" on June 8, 2024 (Saturday) at Buddhist Chi King School for our K2 and K3 students. Apart from the regular games, the school also set up a cheerleading squad for each team to create a sense of comradery among the teammates. Prior the event, parents were invited to get involve in creating a slogan for the cheerleaders with their children. On the day, each cheerleading squad cheered using the short-listed entries submitted to cheer on their teams. With flags and sign in their hands and passions in their hearts, each cheerleading squad fought to earn the title of champion for cheerleading.

The teachers designed a variety of games for parents and students to participate in, including “Adventurous Jumping Bean”, “Battle of the Rolling Boulder”, “Balancing Act” and “Space Walker”. At the sound of the whistle, parents and students used teamwork to overcome the games’ obstacles. They tried their best to finish the race; with the cheerleaders roaring their cheers at the background, our athletes were able to reach their goals. After four exhilarating rounds, each team won a medal for their valorous performance; The green team was also awarded “Best Cheerleading Squad” and had small prizes handed out to them. Parents and students whose slogan got shortlisted in the finals were also awarded the “Cheerleading Slogan Creation Award”.

"Family Fun Sports Day 2024" allowed parents and their children to experience the joy of competitive games, as well as the fun of stretching their legs and participate in something outside of our classrooms. We hope to enhance the bonds between parents and children, and to build up our students’ mindset of team work; most importantly, we wanted to teach our students the importance of sportsmanship, and how friendship is more important than the end result of the competition. We look forward to seeing all the athletes compete on the field once again!
